The Peregrine Recorder Orchestra
Registered Charity no. 1111928
Peregrine was founded in
1985 by Ian Farquhar, and is
therefore the UK's third-longest-established recorder orchestra. It is
based in the village of Ickwell, near Biggleswade in Bedfordshire. As a
registered charity itself, one of Peregrine's aims is to assist other
charities - often small, local ones - to raise funds.
Our other aim, apart from
enjoying ourselves of course, is to promote the understanding and
appreciation of our much-maligned instrument! We do this in two ways;
staging two or three concerts per year, and running a series of school
visits in the local area.
